Judging
Judging Criteria:
If you are a farm or rural based attraction and can answer 'yes' to some or all of the following questions then you are eligible to enter the awards. Do you provide and place high priority upon:
Visitor safety, enjoyment and experience
On site parking and toilets
The welfare of your animals
Cleanliness and general layout of your attraction
The range of facilities at your attraction
The efficiency and attitudes of your staff
Innovation in your approach
All entries need to enclose a selection of 10 current photos of the attraction. These should include the following areas
Entrance and Car Parking Facilities
Toilet Facilities
Tea Room
Gift Shop
Play Areas
Animal Barns
Categories
Class A
50,000 plus visitors per year
Class B
20,000 - 49,999 visitors per year
Class C
Under 20,000 visitors per year
The Judging Process:
Your entry will initially be judged on the supporting documents you send to us with your entry.
eg, brochures, educational literature.
A short list will be drawn up for each category.
Members of the judging panel will make anonymous visits to all short-listed businesses.
The judging process is confidential, individual entries cannot be discussed and the judges decision is final.
The Judging Panel:
The panel of judges will consist of representatives from the Farmers Weekly and Lloyds TSB, the Leisure Industry Week and experts from the fields of farm and rural diversification and leisure and tourism.
There will be a Winner and Highly Recommended of each category. They will receive a plaque and certificate, the presentation of these will be publicised in the Farmers Weekly.
