This workshop is aimed at those who are responsible for routine & operational playground inspections and those in a supervisory or maintenance role.

NFAN Workshops are aimed at Farm Park owners and key staff. Each workshop doubles as a mini open day with a presentation from the host venue and a behind the scenes tour. Numbers are limited to ensure a successful workshop with time to ask questions.

Tea & Coffee will be served from 9.30am, the first workshop session will start at 10.00am. The day is due to finish at 3.30pm. Lunch is provided.

The workshop will cover….

• Introduction to Safety
• The importance of play to children and child development
• Playground accidents, types, severity and reasons
• The legal framework for playgrounds and inspectors; negligence etc.
• Statute Law applicable
• Types and hierarchy of inspections
• Risk Assessment
• Reporting and Paperwork
• Inspection of specific play items and surfacing

Meet the Facilitator

The workshop is led by Jon Dalton from the Play Inspection Company

Jon Dalton is a qualified Annual Inspector of Fully Enclosed Playground Equipment and Outdoor Playgrounds. He is approved by the RPII (Register of Play Inspectors International) to train & examine both Routine and Operational Inspectors. Jon sits
on the board of RPII Directors.

The Venue

The Education workshops also double as mini open days, giving delegates an opportunity to see around the host farm park. During the day there will be a presentation from The Web Adventure Park about their business and a tour.

The multi award-winning Web Adventure Park comprises Creepy Crawlies and Wired High Ropes.

Creepy Crawlies has a huge indoor soft play area with large four lane Astra slides, baby and toddler areas, sports arena, disco area, ball canons, and a role play village. Outside is a large sand & water play area, netted climbing forest, jungle bridge, wacky swings, a den building area, water splash play, pedal go-karts and farm animals. Please Note: Inspecting a High Ropes course is not included in this workshop.

Only NFAN members can attend.

There are 20 places available allocated on a first come first served basis. To enable as many members as possible to be represented we have an initial limit of two delegates per member.
